It is a direct replacement for the factory crossmember and mounts using all of the factory bolt locations. Further, the bottom of the crossmember is formed rather than welded; this gives the bottom of the crossmember a smooth bottom instead of hard edges that can get snagged on rocks and rip welds. The crossmember is drilled to accept the factory transfer case skid plate, though 2007-2011 models will require trimming the factory skid plate to fit. Most aftermarket skid plates should be a direct bolt-in.
