When Helper Springs Make More Sense

There is a lot to like about the no-fuss approach. Helper springs cannot lose air overnight, and there is no controller to wire or compressor to service. They can also be a better value if you do not need adjustment. If your rear suspension is consistently under-sprung for the way the truck lives, a properly matched helper spring system corrects the root mismatch more directly than inflating a bag every time you load up.
The downside is unloaded ride. A heavy helper spring can make an empty truck feel firmer, especially over sharp potholes and expansion joints.
